The TA-03S is a desktop tube headphone amplifier covering several functions with High Fidelity construction.
It includes a high-performance USB XMOS U8 interface, one famous 12AU7 tube and two current 6C19 tubes in buffer. The device is ideal for use at home or in a professional context, especially with a USB DAC feature that allows it to function as a real USB sound card.
The device supports PCM 32-192kHz formats and native DSD up to DSD12 thus allowing user to enjoy dematerialized music file formats in very high resolution.
TA-03S has a USB digital input driven by the chip U8 XMOS (8 cores & asynchronous). The digital audio signal is then decoded by a pair of CS4398 chips before being sent to the preamplifier stage.
The U8 Xmos chip in charge of the USB interface is one of the best standards on the Hi-Fi market for this technology. It natively supports all advanced audio protocols and limits as much as possible of jitter and unwanted delay.
On the other hand, an AUX analog stereo RCA allows to directly attack the preamplifier stage from an analog signal. In other words: the TA-03S is perfectly comfortable with digital flows, as well as analog streams.
Tubes & 6C19 12AU7
The preamplification stage works with 12AU7 (ECC82) tube. This dual triodemodel is particularly popular in the world of music Hi Fi for the excellent linearity of its frequency response, long-lasting durability and very low noise level.
The current buffer stages uses two 6C19 tubes on the headphones amplifier to offer excllent output level and high performance in order to drive high impedance headsets without damaging the sound signature of lamps.
Linear power supply
The TA-03S is easy to power with its standard IEC input port. It integrates its own regulated power-supply constructed from a high quality transformer type E (specialfor tube) with its own screening cover and insulation. This allows to benefit from a very stable supply while very effectively limiting the uptake of magnetic noise. This directly improves audio quality.
The power filter operates Nippon Chemi-Con capacitors and filters couplings developed for the specific needs of the unit.
