Standfast / Frans Maas Sabina 37

Prachtig klassiek zeiljacht, volledig gerestaureerd en vernieuwd
De door de bekende Frans Maas ontworpen Sabina is een mooi gelijnd stalen jacht, gebouwd op de werf van de Gebroeders Maas in Breskens. Ze werd in 1961 te water gelaten. Het schip vaart onder Nederlandse vlag en is gezien haar leeftijd niet BTW plichtig. De Sabina 37 is een snel en zeewaardig zeiljacht met een prettig zeegedrag. Het schip in 2005/2006 tot op een zeer hoog niveau gerestaureerd en heeft toen onder meer een nieuw dek, gestraalde romp met een nieuw modern verfsysteem, nieuwe zeilen, een nieuwe mast en een nieuwe motor gekregen, waarmee dit schip nu in een uitstekende conditie is.De romp is in staal gebouwd, het dek en de opbouw is geheel in epoxy en het onderdek is, net als het teak dek volledig vernieuwd en op een stalen flens aan de romp vastgezet. Dit schip is een rasechte s-spant met een verzwaarde loodkiel. Ballast ca. 4500kg en het totaal gewicht is 10,5 ton. Den Arent heeft een cockpit met comfortabele langsbanken en een helmstok. De kajuitingang is voorzien van een kleine buiskap. Verder valt op de forse radarmast op het achterdek en de windvaan stuurinrichting achter op het schip. Toegang tot de lieren aan de zijkanten van de cockpit is uitstekend.
Centraal in het jacht bevindt zich een mooi formaat kajuit, met aan bakboord de navigatietafel en de kombuis aan stuurboord. In de hoofdkajuit is rondom de neerklapbare tafel ruim voldoende zitruimte. Achter de banken zijn twee extra kooien geplaatst. De betimmering door het hele schip is uitgevoerd in klassiek mahony. Scharnieren en ander beslag zijn in chroom of RVS staal en stevig gevormde handgrepen. Deurtjes zijn aan beide zijden van massief mahonyhout.

1. General information
The Sabina, designed by the famous Frans Maas, is a beautifully lined steel yacht, built on the Maas Brothers' wharf in Breskens. She was launched in 1961. The ship sails under the Dutch flag and is not subject to VAT because of her age. The Sabina 37 is a fast and seaworthy sailing yacht with a pleasant sea behavior. The ship has been completely refitted in 2005/2006 and then got a new deck, a new paint system, new sails, a new mast and a new engine, with which this ship is now in excellent condition. The hull is constructed in steel, the deck is made of epoxy composite and attached to the hull on a steel flange. This ship is a purebred s-shaped with a weighted lead keel. Ballast approx. 4500kg and the total weight is 10.5 tons.
Cockpit layout: Den Arent has a cockpit with comfortable seats and a tiller. The cabin entrance is equipped with a small spray hood. Furthermore, there is a radar mast on the aft deck and the windvane steering gear on the rear of the ship. Access to the winches on the sides of the cockpit is excellent.
2. Accommodation
General layout
Central to the yacht is a nice sized cabin, with the outward-facing navigation station on the port side and a galley on the starboard side. In the main cabin there is ample seating space around the fold-down table. Two extra beds have been placed behind the benches. The paneling throughout the ship is carried out in classic mahogany. Hinges and other fittings are in chrome or stainless steel and firmly formed handles. Doors are made of solid mahogany.
Galley The galley is located on the starboard side, with a single-bowl sink. Lots of handy storage space for crockery and cutlery.
In 2005, a full restauration was carried out to a very high level which included the following activities: New mast and boom, all sails and the standing and running rig, motor renewed, blasted and modern paint system applied. Teak deck completely renewed.
