Combining high performance with low fuel consumption, the Wider 42 is equipped with twin 480hp Cummins engines which drive her to over 50 knots an impressive speed for a 42 cruising yacht.
These performance figures are largely due to the stepped hull, designed by offshore racing specialist Mark Wilson, as well as Arneson surface drive propellers. 70% of the Wider 42 is made of carbon in order to achieve a relatively light displacement and excellent power to weight ratio. As a result, the Wider 42 offers enhanced efficiency and has a greater range than other yachts in its size category.
With the trademark Wider expanding cockpit, the Wider 42 offers double the surface area of a conventional 42-footer. Opening up at the push of a button the process takes just 12 seconds expanding amidships to provide a deck space of 18m2 when at anchor.
