For multi-channel music and home cinema systems, the Mercury VCi is a centre channel speaker voiced to ensure clarity, tonal balance with the other Vi models and outstanding dialogues coherence. Based on the components and tuning of the Mercury V1i, the VCi will integrate smoothly with all other models in the Mercury Vi range providing a perfect match for multi-channel systems utilising V1i, VRi or V4i. A compact and solidly constructed speaker, the VCi is fully shielded to prevent colour fringing effects when placed close to screens. To cater for both modern and more traditional decor, Mercury VCi is available in either sugar maple or dark walnut finish.
Advanced Wideband tweeter
Key to the Mercury VCi’s exceptional dialogue clarity is the new magnesium-aluminium alloy tweeter offering an extremely wide bandwidth and incredibly detailed high frequency response. With a bandwidth extending out to 53 kHz, Mercury VCi delivers a wide soundstage and accurately portrays dialogue and full range vocal harmonics.
Rigid braced cabinet
Revised internal bracing on the new Mercury VCi creates a solid and compact cabinet with very low colouration. Fully magnetically shielded and built from wood pulp and high density fibre loaded board, each cabinet benefits from low frequency port-tuning tailored to centre channel duties of the VCi design.
Crossover with Differential Materials Technology™
The Mercury VCi crossover features higher tolerance components, new wiring and the use of Tannoy’s bespoke Differential Material Technology™ (DMT) damping on the HF capacitors to delivery excellent dialogue clarity and articulation. Designed to seamlessly integrate the new tweeter with the stiff but light pulp fibre mid / bass cone, first introduced on Mercury V range, the new crossover offers smoother integration and an even greater sense of dialogue presence than its award-winning predecessor.
High purity silver-plated wiring
Unheard of in a budget loudspeaker design, Tannoy’s engineers found that this high quality silver plated oxygen-free copper cable gives Mercury Vi speakers better air and space in treble detailing, leading to better communication through the key dialogue frequencies. The result is a more articulate and detailed sound with resolution of fine detail and micro dynamics on par with speakers costing much more.
Mounting flexibility
The Mercury VCi can be easily wall mounted for convenience or placed on a solid cabinet below a screen. The Mercury VCi is fitted with two screw-sockets, securely fastened into the cabinet body, for use with a wide range of third-party loudspeaker brackets.
