Verhuisde in de jaren zeventig naar de Krim, en werd 1 van de leidende Sovjet problemisten van die jaren en verwierf hij een internationale reputatie als vertegenwoordiger van de “nieuwe golf” van de Sovlet damoppositie. Hij leidde de damafdeling in de krant “” Glory of Sebastopol”
In 1967eindigde hij als 3 in het Sovjetkampioenschap. Uvarov componeerde een onvoorstelbaar aantal problemen, met wel 18000 serienummers. Bijna een halve eeuw lang bleef zijn stijl hetzelfde, als in zijn jeugd. De jaren hadden geen invloed op zijn werkvermogen. Zelfs op zijn 65 ste bleef hij componeren met de zelfde energie als op zijn 20 ste. Gedurende vel jaren werd zijn werk gepubliceerd in Dameldorado, De Problemist en Het Damspel en in vakbladen in Joegoslavië, Polen Frankrijk en Duitsland. Het creatieve en levenspad van Anatoly Uvarov eindigde op 20 augustus 2016, toen hij stierf.

Moved to Crimea in the 1970s, becoming one of the leading Soviet problemists of those years, gaining an international reputation as a representative of the “new wave” of the Sovlet dam opposition. He headed the drafts department in the newspaper “” Glory of Sebastopol”
In 1967 he finished 3rd in the Soviet Championship. Uvarov composed an unimaginable number of problems, with as many as 18000 serial numbers. For almost half a century his style remained the same as in his youth. The years did not affect his working ability. Even at 65 he continued to compose with the same energy as at 20. For many years his work was published in Dameldorado, De Problemist and Het Damspel and in professional journals in Yugoslavia, Poland, France and Germany. Anatoly Uvarov's creative and life path ended on August 20, 2016, when he died.
