Kings Of Leon - Mechanical Bull Na een periode van drie jaar touren en werken aan andere projecten, brengt Kings of Leon op 20 september 2013 hun zesde studioalbum uit, getiteld 'Mechanical Bull'. Het nieuwe album is opgenomen in de eigen studio van de band in Nashville en is geproduceerd door Angelo Petraglia, die als songwriter en producer al vanaf het eerste album betrokken is bij Kings of Leon. "I thought we were going to make a really mature album but I'm amazed how youthful it sounds. It's like a mix of ' Youth & Young Manhood' and 'Because Of The Times'. The vibe could be compared to the first couple of albums but it's much more musically complicated," aldus bassist Jared Followill over 'Mechanical Bull'. De broers Caleb, Nathan, Jared en neef Matthew Followill richten de band op in 1999. Met het vierde studioalbum 'Only By The Night' uit 2008, met de wereldwijde hits 'Sex On Fire' en Use Somebody', brak Kings Of Leon definitief door. De band werd onderscheiden met Grammy en Brit Awards en was klaar voor het grote publiek met optredens in o.a. Madison Square Garden in New York en de O2 Arena in Londen. De band is deze zomer gestart met hun Europese tour en waren live te zien als headliners op het Pinkpop Festival.
