May 2002, this EuroArts release features orchestral interpretations by the Berlin Philharmonic of three classical masterworks: Ludwig von Beethoven's "Egmont Overture, Op. 44"; Antonín Dvorák's "Symphony No. 9, Op. 95," subtitled "From the New World"; and Giuseppi Verdi's "Overture to 'I Vespri Siciliani'." Universally acclaimed violinist Gil Shaham also makes an appearance on the Palermo stage, performing Johannes Brahms's "Violin Concerto, Op. 77."
