Two different kinds of arrangements of Early Music can be heard on this CD: on the one hand, transcriptions that follow the original almost note-for-note, and on the other, arrangements that place the original in a completely differnt stylistic guise. Thus the transcriptions of selected pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach contain every note from Bach?s score, whereas Jun Nagao's arrangement of Vivalds Four seasons can be regarded as a new composition for the most part. To put it another way: Bach?s music is given a different set of clothes, while the Vivaldi appears in complete disguise.
